Spa Etiquette

Scheduling Your Appointment

The Day Spa often experiences high levels of business flow. Therefore, we recommend booking appointments well in advance, particularly when multiple guests and/or treatments are involved. We suggest that once you have chosen the desired date and time, you make your reservation as soon as possible.

Information

Arrival Time

Please arrive 10 to 15 minutes prior to your scheduled appointment time. This will allow enough time for you to relax and check-in at our reception desk.

(Note! A late arrival time will result in your treatment time being shortened in consideration of our other guests, and you will still be billed for the full cost of the treatment as it was originally booked.)

Cancellations

Due to the overwhelming demand for Day Spa services, many guests await hopefully their chance to book an appointment due to cancellations.

Therefore, we require a minimum of 24 hours notice Monday – Wednesday and 48 hours notice Thursday – Sunday to cancel or reschedule appointments, or a fee will incur, which can be up to the full amount of the appointments worth.

Special Events / Private Parties

To schedule a group reservation please email the following information to info@somersdayspa.com:

  • First & Last Names of each individual attending
  • Contact phone number for each individual attending
  • If having a massage, please indicate if there is a preference for a male or female massage therapist
  • Requested Date(s) and Time(s)

A deposit of 1/2 down is required to reserve large group bookings and a gratuity of 20% will be added automatically to the total cost of services.  In addition, a minimum of one weeks notice is required to implement any changes to appointments, reschedule the date, or cancel the appointments.  Should this policy be violated a fee will incur, which can be up to the full amount of the appointments worth.

Attire

Please come comfortably dressed. For those with more than one Day Spa treatment, robes, wraps and slippers are provided. During treatment, your body will be draped at all times, except for the area being treated. Lockers are available for storage of your personal items.

Valuables / Lost Articles

We recommend that you leave your more valuable items at home. Although lockers are provided for Day Spa guests, we are not responsible for any lost or stolen articles.

Cellular Phones

The Day Spa is an oasis of peace and tranquility. To help maintain this serenity, please mute your cell phones and pagers. For your convenience, there is a phone available at the front desk. Our staff will gladly take messages while you enjoy your treatment undisturbed.

Quiet, Please

Please be mindful of other guests’ space. While you are certainly welcome to engage in quiet conversation, please refrain from loud talking, especially in our hallways and relaxation room. Our facility is a place where many guests savor a much-needed private moment to read, meditate, or simply to relax.

Contraindications to Treatment

Contraindications to Day Spa treatment may include, but are not limited to: pregnancy, high blood pressure, infectious skin disease, epilepsy, asthma, and use of excessive or daily medication. If you are pregnant or have a medical condition, it is imperative that you inform the Day Spa Coordinator at time of booking, and your Therapist prior to treatment.

Helpful Hints

Please note that it is advisable to avoid the consumption of alcohol or large meals prior to any Day Spa treatments.

Gratuities

Gratuity must be in the from of cash or a check made out to Somers Day Spa.  We cannot add gratuity to credit or debit cards, however, we do have an ATM onsite if needed.

The customary gratuity for all Day Spa services is between 15% and 20%. Treatment prices do not include gratuities.  In addition, the listed prices for the Day Spa Gift Packages do not include a gratuity unless noted on gift certificates.  Please tip your therapist as you see fit.
